| - What a joke of an airline. I never would've even heard of this no-name "Spirit" wannabe unless my friend didn't take it. I was trying to find a cheap flight back to NorCal after all the other airlines charged like at least a bill or more over Allegiant, especially within 2 weeks of flying. Read the reviews and seriously didn't giving them second thought.
Paid my check in fee, paid my carry on, then waited an hour before my flight only to have it delayed 3 hours. Whatever, manageable. An hour later, lady yells (they don't have clear speakers as all the service reps were yelling on the top of their lungs), that the flight had been delayed an additional 4 hours! That's 7 hours post-scheduled time. And what sucked was seeing airplane after airplane dock at our boarding zone to other locations, then getting filled. We had the option to get our checkins removed from the flight in case we did not feel like flying with them. The lady who announced that option had to be the most sarcastic woman I've ever spoke to. Working in customer service, I tried to remain polite, but after she started rolling her eyes and complaining about not going on lunch, I started to have doubt. I took the option and waited. Waited 2 hours at baggage claim to not receive it. My friends were willing to ride me back up to NorCal, and that meant about a 9+ hour ride, so I had to leave then and there.
LUCKILY, this is why I gave an extra star to this terrible excuse of an airline, I met a service rep name Nina. At first, her answers to my questions were vague, or I had the sense she was not too concerned with my concerns, just giving me half answers, but she ended suggesting I leave with my party now, and she'd take my number down, and call to have my baggage shipped out to whichever location I preferred, even with other airlines. It took me awhile to hear from her, almost 24 hours later (a nightmare of 24 hours not knowing where in the world my baggage was), but she followed up, got my bag on a flight and I picked it up from Stockton that same night. Thank you, Nina, definitely appreciate it.
Might I add, the flight I didn't fly on ended up getting an additional 3 hour delay (making it a total of 10 hours), and THEN at midnight, got canceled? That's ridiculous. And their phone service is a terrible load of crap. Expect to be on the line for 40+ minutes listening to automated messages.
So my best advice is that if you're trying to save a few bucks on a flight, don't. The panic and stress is not worth it.
