  • FreshCo at Gladstone and Queen recently opened (in place of the Price Chopper) and is my new favourite place to buy groceries. As a not-so-extreme couponer, I love a good deal and have made price matching a requirement of my weekly grocery store. When I found out FreshCo price matches (actually they give you $0.01 off the advertised price) AND they have fresh, good looking, tasty produce, I was hooked. I had concerns with other major price matching grocery stores because their meat and produce looked a little... iffy. It would also go bad MUCH quicker than the stuff from FreshCo. While FreshCo is not our closest grocery store, I bike the extra 10 minutes because I can save between $20 and $50 per visit. If you're super brand-loyal, you'll have to be flexible. But if you love to stock up on good deals - regardless of the brand - FreshCo is a great choice. Happy Shopping!
