Had a nice lunch at Grotto the last time we were in town. We were meeting my junior high school classmates for lunch. Our flight got in a little before lunchtime so we made our way to Downtown soon after retrieving our rental car. Grotto is located inside the Golden Nugget Casino & Hotel. I'm very familiar with the Nugget having stayed there in the past but had never dined at Grotto. One of our classmates is a Vegas local and suggested dining there. It was definitely a good call.
We ordered calamari for our table and I went with the grilled chicken panini minus the mozzarella. It also came with roma tomatoes and mayo. The sandwich was very good. The grilled chicken was tasty and not dry. The chicken was also cut into pieces and I was real happy with it. The waffle fries the panini came with were very good. I really liked them. Nicely seasoned and went well with the panini. Good sandwich. I would get again in the future. The plate came with a small bowl of ketchup for dipping the waffle fries. I liked that.
Other entrees ordered at our table were the portabello panini, pizza and pasta bolognese. Everyone was very happy with their individual orders. The calamari was great. It came with marinara dipping sauce and lemon to squeeze accordingly. Great appetizer.
Service was good. Water for everyone. A moscow mule. sodas... All brought to our table with a smile. Manager on duty was very personable and we enjoyed our meal at Grotto for sure. Definitely a place to check out when at or around the Nugget.
