This is such a hard review for me to leave... I've been a big fan of the concept behind the whitewater center since inception. But, they just consistently fall short on delivery.
First, the pros:
- Beautiful outdoor space that is super dog friendly!
- Excellent beer selection.
- Good festivals and headliners (Marc Broussard, Langhorne Slim, Wood Brothers, Nathaniel Rateliff, etc.)
During big events, parking and food/beverage service is always a nightmare. Their rule about no outside food and beverage (I've even been chastised for bringing in a bottle of water) is just plain greediness. Listen. If you can't figure out how to feed thousands during your big events without hour plus waits and mediocre food selection, just let us bring in our own!
Customer Service is consistently awful. Every employee I've come into contact with has a knack for making me feel like a number and part of their bottom line.
I get that the first few years were tough. But, surely they're profitable at this point. I wish they'd stop making everything about the money and spend a little bit of time and energy on the experience. They have an amazing facility and SO much potential to be a true outdoor adventure destination but they're missing the mark currently.
