After waiting for over an hour at the CVS minute clinic, they turned me away and told me that my strep was too bad to be treated there. No joke she had me in tears thinking that I had to go right now to have my tonsils removed. Apparently normal antibiotics wouldn't be sufficient enough. Mind you, I'm so sick right now that my body hurts everywhere and I have a full blown fever and chills. The nurse practitioner turned me away and told me to go to UMC. Something inside me didn't feel right about it. I went over to A different urgent care across the street... But they did not accept my insurance so she sent me to a third urgent care that would take my insurance. I walked in and out in 10 minutes with anabiotic's and the mental sanity of knowing that it's not as bad as The first woman made it sound. Just goes to show that second opinions are always a good idea. Never going to a minute clinic again! She even took out her cell phone in the middle of the consultation to call a supervisor to get a second opinion. All of this happened before she even took a strep test to make sure that I actually had strep throat.
