| - One Hour? How about 20 days! They are still bad.
I think most of the employees at One Hour try to do a very good job. They just happen to work for an owner who has NO sense of customer service. Mike Fowler is very contentious and belligerent.
I was without air conditioning for 20 days. The first technician, although very friendly and hard working, failed to address the problem. Instead of diagnosing the issue (a hole in a coil) he said my unit was 'dirty' and needed to be cleaned. In the process of cleaning, he claims the fan was broken and needed to be replaced. He did not have the part and said he would be back Monday morning between 9-11. Temperatures that weekend where in the mid 90's. I stayed home from work and at 12pm I called to find out where he was. Kim said he should be there by 1pm. He showed up and spent 5 hours replacing the fan.
Once, I looked out the window to see what he was doing and he had all the electrical wires and caps off. Also, he was reading out of a manual. Never a good sign. Anyway, at 7pm he said it was fixed. He added 3lbs. of freon and stop leak. I also signed up for a servicing plan. I paid him $750.00. He assured me it would cool off.
The next morning I left the country for a week. Upon return on July 5th, the thermostat was at 80 degrees. I called the next morning and spoke with Lori. Lori assured me because I had put the thermostat on 75 and it has been over 100 degrees it would take a while for it to cool down. She also said most systems will only cool 20 degrees cooler than the outside temperature. I knew that was not right. I waited to 2pm and called back.
Kim scheduled a second tech appt. for July 7th. The second tech was great, Josh. Josh found that one reason the air was not cool was because BOTH heat and air were coming out. Somehow, the wires got crossed. Hmm. I wonder how? He also found a hole in a coil. Remember, the first tech was at my house for about 10 hours and he missed this. This was the issue. I was and still am willing to pay for this entire repair. All the freon was leaking out. The part could be ordered but would take 7-10 days to get in???? I spoke with the owner, Mike Fowler, and he gave me a list of reasons why it would take so long, including blaming Obama. Travis , the ops manager, did say they would bring me some window unit(S) to help me manage the heat. The next day, he brought a very small window unit. I appreciate the thought but one dinky window unit would not cool a shoebox.
On July 14th, Josh finished the job that the first tech didn't attempt. He wanted $1050 for the repair. I said I should get a $750 credit as the air was never fixed and did not address the problem.
On July 15th, Mike Folwer called and spent 25 minutes telling that I need to pay him 'his damn money' and they 'busted their ass' for me. I was just trying to get him to honor his 100% guarantee. He would not be reasoned with. He threatened me and threatened to have me fired from my job (he knows people). I have been an executive in financial services for 25 years and I have never been talked to like Mike Fowler talked to me. Of course, he is going to sue me and 'have my job'. He also said 'you have no idea who I was messing with!' I kept asking why he was screaming at me. By the way, this bullying is a pattern with him if you read all the reviews.
I happen to know some people at Direct Energy and will be sending Badar Kahn a letter. I do not think they will appreciate this type of bullying from one of their franchisees.
I feel sorry for the employees there that have to work for such a brash and unsophisticated owner. Absolutely, DO NOT use this company.
