I've been to many LA Fitness locations and this one is almost average. The machines could be updated but are decent. The dumbells are lacking sizes but work. The locker room could use a makeover but does the job. It's an LA Fitness so there is some to be desired but for the most part it will get the job done.
The one thing that is disturbing as a member is they have literally roped off a huge section of the gym and put signs up in caps that read "Reserved for Trainer Members Only" or something to that effect.
I am pretty sure when this LA Fitness opened they advertised a certain amount of useable sq footage and now they are saying only members that pay extra can use an entire section.
I am not a lawyer but this sounds like a class action lawsuit waiting to happen. Not only is this huge section roped off with signs in all capital letters saying to stay out but nobody is even using it. Talk about a slap in the face to its members who pay to use this building and pay for the staff to have jobs.
I've been to many other LAFs and they do have a section dedicated to trainers but it is not roped off and anyone can use it at any time.
LA Fitness seems to think it is the only gym in town. Blockbuster used to think that about movie rentals. Take notes...
