I'm from out of town and wanted to hit some balls so I found this place. When I first walked in the gentlemen at the counter was extremely rude, (I was interrupting his television time, so I guess I had that one coming) and when I asked him questions he seemed very annoyed. I asked if they had demo clubs and he said they do but I would be charged $50 dollars to use them as a "fitting fee" and that I couldn't use them on their range because it would damage them. (If anyone wants to explain that one too me I'm all ears) I passed on the demo clubs and paid $18 for 150 balls, not to bad. I go out to the range area and start hitting balls. First- the turf matts you hit off of are completely worn. There are tracks in the turf in the swing path from continuous use that make it difficult to make decent contact without your club bouncing off of the ruts left from years of neglect. Second - the automated ball machine runs about every 2 minutes or so (so you get to listen to that noise constantly) third - the ENTIRE landing area is turf. They say it's the most realistic comparison to the real thing. I'll give you an hint, the most realistic comparison IS REAL GRASS!! So I finish hitting my balls and go into the pro shop to look around and I looked at several iron sets they have for sale as NEW sets, every six iron and pitching wedge had been demoed and they are still selling these sets as new. So bottom line, if you've never golfed before in your life this place is your place, if youre any sort of a decent or committed golfer go to a real driving range at a golf course.
