  • Si Senor is a restaurant on Alma School and Ray Road featuring New Mexico Mexican Cuisine. When you first sit down, they give you a basket full of around 20 chips, a small bowl of red salsa, chunky green salsa, refried beans and sour cream dip mixed with jalapenos and milk. It has great Mexican music playing in the background. It is a nice building with red tile floors and authentic wooden chairs with sunflowers painted on the back. My friend and I came for lunch. She's also a Yelp reviewer and I am a mostly a Google reviewer but I'm going to post to Yelp as well now. The lunch specials include one drink and 1 sopapilla for dessert and they're mostly price about $7.95. My friend ordered the chili relleno which comes with rice and beans and I ordered the cheese enchiladas and it was supposed to be a beef taco but I don't eat meat so they made it a bean taco which I wasn't that happy with because I would have rather had a tostada but they would not substitute on the lunch menu. We persistently asked our server to give us more red salsa, since it wasn't even two tablespoons per bowl. The server said that they don't like to give a lot of salsa because it goes to waste. We asked for more bowls and they were going to charge us but we said we weren't going to pay. I ordered a red enchilada but instead they brought me green, so I brought that to our server Valerie's attention and instead of giving me a new fresh red enchilada she just came with the red enchilada sauce told me to pour it over the green, which I wasn't too happy with. Our server was pretty much annoyed with us the entire meal. I don't know why. She was a lot more friendly with other customers at other tables. The food is passable, but it's not delicious. It's just your standard Tex Mex, but most Americans would love it if they never tasted authentic New Mexico food from Albuquerque or Santa Fe. Anytime I can eat chips and salsa though, I enjoy the meal. The portions are very generous and I was happy to know that they do not use lard in their beans. All in all, it was a decent experience even though we had to fight for more salsa every step of the way. The sopapillas were delicious and they give you the whole jar of honey to pour on that. We got the cinnamon ones. All in all you'll probably enjoying a nice lunch here with TVs around the walls beautiful pictures and a clean spotless restaurant.
