Unfortunately, this review needed to be made. My family (6 total) decided to give La Torretta a try on Saturday evening 06/02/18. I need to preface this by saying that we have frequented many restaurants in the Scottsdale/North Phoenix area including some excellent Italian restaurants in Scottsdale. First, I wanted to say that overall the food was ok, but certainly not great (ie-Linguine with Clams=good, Lasagna=ok, Chicken Parmesean= ok (flavor good but tough), Clams Oreganata=poor, Salmon=poor (under-cooked).
The service was extremely poor. Our server (Server ID 6) was very rude and condescending to us. I asked him for some tabasco for the Clams and he proceeded to say "this is an Italian restaurant and we don'carry things like ketchup and tabasco." My wife asked him how the Chicken Parmesean was breaded and said "Italian food is dipped in egg and not breaded..." with a very arrogant, condescending tone. Another time as he was walking by I asked him another question and he looked exasperated and rolled his eyes. I wasn't sure if he was just having a bad day, or if this is just how he treats his customers. The good news for this Italian-American that grew eating great food, is I know there are many other fine restaurant options in the area.
