| - I almost gave this place a 1 but the service became a bit better without the large volume of customers... with that said, being such a large hotel charging over 150/night on a busy weekend - shouldn't you know better?
The positives:
- Adorable kids check in desk
- Ample parking, however scary tight the garage
- Location
The negatives:
I apologize in advance for my rant.
- Terrible service. The long lines didn't bother me. What bothered me was how they handled our parking situation. When the front staff forgot to ask us about parking, we came back to the concierge desk to inquire. The concierge desk told us to call from our room given the long line at the front desk and no line at concierge. Upon going back to our room, the front desk told us to come back downstairs to wait in line. All we needed was a stamp... but we spent a good 25 minutes rectifying their mistake/miscommunication.
- Hotel/Cleanliness. I get this is an older hotel and not terribly impressive because of it, decor or otherwise - but if my off-white socks get grey from walking around barefoot in my hotel room for 5 minutes, I get a bit worried. (It didn't help that in the 5 minutes I took to get back to my room one day, my room was done. Great, fast service but ? about thorough.) I think the bathroom tub liked to leak water and my back was not feeling the mattress... so in general, perhaps this hotel is not up to modern standards.
-Elevators. I love the color coded elevators given the enormity of the hotel; however, these had to be the slowest elevators. Many people, including us on the 5th floor, had to take the stairs plenty of times. The elevators were small and parking is with a different elevator.
-Noise. This is a hit or miss depending on the other guests, but you can definitely hear the hallway. Luckily, I think between rooms are well insulated.
