  • I came to this location for the first time yesterday. I usually go to the Paradise Valley Mac, but after continuously getting horrible service at that store, I decided to try the Biltmore location, as it was the only Mac I hadn't been to yet. The Biltmore location makes the PV location look like the greatest makeup store of all time... No joke. I walked in only needing one thing, my studio fix powder. As soon as I walked in, I immediately felt uncomfortable. I know that any Mac you go to, you usually feel this way regardless, but I didn't expect it to be like this. I have been wearing this powder for years, but was not sure of my shade because my skin is lighter this time of year, so I knew that I would need help picking a shade and possibly even need to have someone apply the makeup on me and match me. I was in the store for 10 minutes without anyone saying a word to me. I was just standing over by the Studio Fix powder opening up all of the compacts searching for a shade that I felt matched me. There were about 5 employees on the floor, having conversations with each other and not asking me if I needed any help. This male employee, with blue hair, I caught him staring at me multiple times, and he never once asked me if I needed help, even though he was watching me as I struggled to find a shade for over 10 minutes. I literally watched about 5 people come in after me, and he asked every single one of them if they needed help, but he never asked me. I was about 10 seconds away from either A- complaining to the manager, or B- just walking out. I had driven all the way down there from 7th street to come this store, so I really wanted to just get my shit and go. Unfortunately, they have all of their products stashed away in drawers that only the employees can open, so you literally have to have someone do it for you or else you can't get to them... Another reason why it is so frustrating to shop here! If nobody ever comes over to you to ask you if you need help, you literally can't get what you need anyways, forcing you to just awkwardly pace back and forth in the middle of the room until someone finally says something! It's ridiculous!!! So I finally just walked up to the register and asked the girl to get me the studio fix powder in a random color that I thought would be okay... She checked me out and I left. She was okay, and the nicest person in the room, but I am really fed up with Mac... I am borderline about to reach out to their corporate office and submit a complaint. I am sick of spending hundreds of dollars at their stores and always receiving shitty service. It is not even that it's simply bad service because they aren't good at their jobs, but it is like they legit treat you like shit and like they hate every customer that walks through the door. I have seen numerous other reviews on Yelp for all of the Mac locations in the valley and many other people feel the same way, and as if we are doing them a favor by spending money in their stores... It is disgusting how they treat customers that spend $20 on a single lipstick! Unfortunately for me, I will continue to spend money at Mac stores because their Studio Fix powder is the only powder I have ever been able to find that covers my skin perfectly, so I have no choice.... But I will definitely never return to the Biltmore location, even though it is sadly one of the closer ones to my home. Even though the girls at PV are just as rude, at least they do not straight up ignore you.
