Since Purim is approaching I wanted to see if I could get some Hamentashen. (Purim dessert which is a three cornered pastry with filling). I walked in here and sure enough they had it along with rugelach, another Jewish pastry. They looked fresh as well so I asked the lady which were the most popular. She told me poppyseed. Hamentashen has various fillings in the pastry such as apricot, blueberry, cherry but I had never tried poppyseed.
The man in line behind me told me he wanted some so I knew not to buy the whole group. I bought one to eat there and more to take home.. They also carry your other traditional baked goods and I see they are known for their bread. The lady let me sample a sourdough bread with olives in it. I must say it was quite different.
I started to eat my poppyseed hamentashen and it was very good. I definitely will revisit this bakery to try out their other things on a future visit. But for now I am pleased with my hamentashen and hope to get more before Purim starts near the end of this month.
