This is a wonderful store to browse and get ideas for a meal. The size of the store is just right. Small enough to be able to see everything in a brief visit, yet large enough to function properly. Staff are helpful and pleasant. The quality of their meat is second to none, which is a cliche of course, and one day I will do a blind taste test using a pound of ground beef and update my reviews with the result.
Since Sanagan opened a store a few years ago, with prices lower than HB and quality comparable, the competition is stiff. Now with Cumbrae's within walking distance, along with a decent butcher at Loblaw's, the choice is amazing. HB still has the edge with their selection of organic meat. Ground beef was $12.99/lb. Hence the nick name of Wealthy Butcher. Taste is awesome so it's worth it unless you are feeding an army.
