  • The unique thing about the King's kitchen is that it's a nonprofit restaurant. It's goal is to help hire and educate people that are considered 'unemployable'. All profits go towards feeding the hungry and helping to educate their staff members. It's truly remarkable to know as you pay for your meal that you are helping change someone's life. Now let's get to the review......The interior of this restaurant is great. Very country modern- a look I love! They also have a nice outdoor patio for you to enjoy. If you're looking for a quick lunch try sitting at the bar area too! I've been here twice for lunch and it's always been pretty busy. The service isn't amazing, but the food has always been delicious! I've had the deviled eggs for an appetizer which is a must. I haven't ventured out of the menu too much, but the chicken panini is great. It's comes with pimento cheese, arugula and a marinated tomato. The sandwich is a little messy since the tomato is marinated, but it will do with a knife and fork. Plus, they have a large selection of southern sides including mashed potatoes, collard greens, fried okra, creamed corn and more! Actually they have 15 daily sides. Holy cow!!!! My favorite side I had was the daily special-yellow squash and zucchini (with tons of butter of course!). You can even get a "veggie" plate which includes your selection of 4 sides if you want to try a little bit of everything. I've heard their dinner menu is amazing so I'll definitely have to check it out again! Stay tuned!
