| - Like many others, I went to the salon using a groupon.
The stylist was friendly, but I was unhappy with the results.
To put some context behind why, I have been trying to grow my hair out from a short cut for a long time now, and it WAS finally a few inches past my shoulders. The dresser cut my hair far shorter than I was prepared to go and I once again have a short hairstyle, despite the photo I showed her and me expressing I did not want it short again. Its a nice cut if short had been what I wanted.
I wanted balayage tipping/ombre, which she told me I couldn't do, and that I needed to pay for an additional 10 foils if I wanted an ombre effect.
So to emphasize, you DO NOT get ombre with this groupon. You ONLY get 10 foils. Another girl came in shortly after me and ended up walking out after the stylist told her the additional costs associated with just a cut and refreshing of her ombre was almost triple the price of the groupon, which is absurd. Also, the groupon ONLY includes the bleach/lightening aspect of the foils - if you want any colour or toning it costs you extra. And you get charged extra for regardless of what you want if your hair is mid back.
Moral of the story, I paid for extra foils which you cannot even see in my hair, and I now have a short haircut which I did not want. And the hot oil treatment wasn't even left in for 5 mins.
So I left with nearly an 80$ bill on top of the 49$ I had already spent. I didn't save myself anything with this groupon and I wasn't thrilled with the results.
