  • I've been craving empanadas lately and I don't know where to get them! So I called some bakeries to find out who may serve something similar. After three calls, I ended up calling Caldense and the girl on the phone was bubbly and polite. She explained that they do not have empanadas per se, but they have small meat, shrimp or fish patties. Close enough. So I went over, there were no meat patties, so I ordered a couple of the shrimp patties and codfish balls (I thought that was gonna be a patty too). Anyway, it certainly was not an empanada, the dough is some soft with a very crunchy thin layer. The cod fish balls weren't actually balls, but were torpedo shaped. It's a good snack for $1.15 each. Very friendly and fast service.
