| - My husband and I were in town April 9th as a part of a regatta. We wanted a relaxing steak dinner, after being out in the rain all day. Our hotel recommended Monti's.
Unfortunately, we had a miserable experience. We ordered an appetizer, salad, and the 8oz top sirloin, along with wine. The first thing to arrive at our table was our steak. Two waiters showed up with plates and put them down. We told them that we hadn't had our appetizer yet, and they quizzed us, in a not very nice way, about if this was our order or not. They conferred, then grabbed the plates back to take them away. I told them that if those were our plates that I did NOT want steaks that had been put under a warmer. They left at high speed without any acknowledgement.
Our waitress showed up with our wine and then our appetizer. We asked about the plates that had been served and were told that it must have been a mistake. We had our appetizer then we were brought our salads. Two bites into the salad, we were brought our steaks. They obviously had been put under a warmer as they were overcooked. We asked what was going on as we had been rushed all night long. She told us that there was some sort of problem in the kitchen, that they had been slammed earlier, and seemed to be putting out our dinner extremely quickly. Frankly, after standing in cold rain all day long, we were too tired and hungry to try to get to the bottom of this mess, and we ate what we could, paid and left.
I've had better service and steaks at Sizzler. Save yourself the money and the aggravation.
