We fly Allegiant at least once a year from South Bend, IN to Las Vegas, NV. Very convenient to be able to bypass Chicago with no transfers but beware of all kinds of hidden fees. if you don't' pay extra for seat selection it's wacky racers because they have "open seating"once all of those that bought their seats are seated whatever is left it sat by a lottery type system. We DID buy our seats but everyone else that didn't was really honked off. Another thing about this airline that irks me is that they don't hold travelers to the 9x14 size for carry ons. Hubby and I, call us do gooders but we follow the rules and pay to each check a suitcase, $25 per bag each way (as if you'd leave your luggage and not bring it back so just say $50 already!)...every time we fly there are travelers that get away with suitcases cramming them into the overhead bins (barely) to skirt the fee that WE paid. Maybe all airlines do that but sure as SH*& if hubby and I did it, we've have our luggage pulled off the plane. Overall the local convenience of flying direct outweighs the irks and we'll surely continue to fly Allgeiant in the future.
