| - The real deal. They want to know the entire history of your body -- breaks, sprains, aches, pains -- so that they can get you the best treatment possible. Instead of just rubbing your sore muscles and waiting for you to come back when they're sore again, these massage therapists actually act like therapists (imagine that!) and come up with a treatment plan to address your specific issues. And a lot of times the root cause is not where you'd expect. For instance, I was carrying a lot of tension in my abs from being hunched over at my desk all day, which was then giving me back/neck/shoulder pain. All because my ab muscles wouldn't stop contracting, since they'd gotten used to being hunched over.
You don't come here for a relaxing massage (I mean... you can if you want), you come here to get the actual problem fixed! And then you can just come in for routine massages once a month or whenever you want after that.
Also, the location is super great for us office drones who work in Uptown! You can get 30 minute massages and pop out of the office for a bit...
Lena is very frank and honest with her assessment of what you personally can do to help your body, too. She will tell you to stop crossing your legs, definitely. Erica is my primary therapist. She's fantastic and really knows every single muscle in the body and the dozen other muscles it's connected to, I'm convinced. They are undoing years of me mistreating my poor body, and it's great. They are awesome!
