| - First I have not been a part of this church family since 2012. I moved to VA. However, when I first arrived in 2008 after visiting many churches in the area. I felt this is where I want to take my family for a few reasons. 1) It was close to home. 2.) It was a small and intimate setting 3) It is not a modern, prosperity church like most. 4) They offered to move me to my new home for free, despite I may not EVER join their congregation. Why? Because they just wanted to love and bless my family.
So I gave "The Rock" a chance. I am glad I did. I miss my family there, and I mean family. There is soo much many of us went through and we were there for each other. Just looking back at our Small Groups. Just how diversified we were, and how real we were with each other. When it was fight night or birthday night. When anyone n the church needed something, even if we didn't know them that well, everyone pulled together for Christ to love, bless, and encourage.
AS for worship. Honestly, for me it wasn't all that and I wished they didn't play so much rockish worship. Otherwise it was a descent mix, and I sang my non singing voice to the Lord nonetheless. How it is now, IDK. But worship is far more than music. It is how we live our lives. How we represent Christ with our lives is true worship. How God got glorified by his body is what is taught here. Worship through music is just one form while at the Large Gathering (church Sundays).
The service itself was great! Good word, I was never bored. Trust me once I sit, I fall asleep easy!
To see my family out of Judithe Steele will be so different, yet I thank God that through their faithfulness, they can move to a better location. Man I almost bought house right next to that high school too. Whenever I visit Vegas, my home, I will always visit my friends at the Rock. I thank God and PC for the opportunity to serve and lead there. May the Lord send more laborers there to do His work through them...
Check this place out. Have coffee with the pastor Chris or another leader. They insist. In fact meeting with one another to fellowship, break bread, discipleship, or just to do it is a way of life there! Miss you guys!!!
