When I moved and I called to transfer my services, the guy told me that I'm eligible to receive newer equipment at no extra cost and that there would be no installation fee either. When the installer showed up, it turned out that the newer equipment was only compatible with a 4K tv. We don't own any 4K TVs so we did not have any new equipment installed. Here I am, one year later and now they're telling me that agreeing to receive the newer equipment extended my contract until 2018 even though I did not actually receive any new equipment and not once did they mention extending my contract. The employee on the phone said that the installer installed some kind of cable or something at my house "incase we changed our minds" and got the new equipment later and it counts enough to extend my contract. So now I can pay a $220 fee to cancel now or continue with their services for the remainder of my contract. I'm afraid of having them install at my new residence and having them tack on another year without informing me.
