I've been to two movie premiers here (The Dark Knight Rises and The Force Awakens) and both times I was really impressed with how it was handled for such a crazy event. TDKR wasn't as big as TFA, so it was as simple as standing in a line in front of the assigned theater about an hour before the film started. The staff handed out midnight premier posters and glasses and we were soon seated. The theater was clean and the IMAX 3D was amazing.
The screening for TFA was a little bit more hectic and we arrived about 4 hours before the show started. There were different merchandise booths set up and even a roped off area where you could take pictures with some of the characters! The theater was very prepared with a list of times when guests could line up for each showing and where the line was. They did seem a little confused though because they did not know exactly where the lineup for my theater would be, so we wandered back there to try and find it ourselves. It seems a few others had that idea because when we got back to our theater there was only about 5 people in line who had also accidentally wandered back there looking for the line. It wasn't until about an hour later that more people realized where the lineup was. At that point three different lines overlapped and people were confused, loudly confused, about where they were supposed to go. Finally one of the shows started and everyone cleared out. But just like TDKR the theater was clean and the staff was effective with passing out everyone's glasses. The IMAX 3D for this movie was also incredible, and I highly recommend spending the extra money to see it that way.
I think the employees improve with each premier, and I look forward to returning to this location for more movie premiers!
