| - My girlfriend and I came straight here after arrival! We had taken a redeye from Hawaii and since we're both at that age where our bodies are less accommodating...we did not sleep. Well I guess I managed to doze off for about two hours, which counts for something, but overall it was pretty bad. We, looking exhausted, grabbed our luggage and rental car, and decided to drive down the Strip to kill time before Bouchon opened. We had briefly debated going to a breakfast buffet but my friend and I wanted a something little more luxurious since this is vacation! It's her birthday trip and my first time to Vegas! :)
She had given me several options to choose and Bouchon looked the best to me (and she had never been) so we came here! As we waited for Bouchon to open, we walked around The Venetian a little bit. Beautiful place.
Lots of things looked amazing such as the pain au chocolat and other pastries. I ordered a baguette (amazingly fresh and delicious) and my friend got a croissant. She said it was flaky, warm, and amazing. Their special of the day was lobster hash and cauliflower soup. We didn't try either of those.
For breakfast itself, I got an Oeufs Benedict (with smoked pork loin, country bread, Hollandaise, and mixed greens) for $21. It was kind of ouch to me (since I normally spend that sort of amount on a dinner, not a breakfast) but I decided this is vacation and I deserve a treat. The two eggs were the most beautifully poached eggs I've seen in my life. It looked picture perfect!!!! They were cooked perfectly!!! I couldn't finish though - I left about 3 bites on my plate...I was just full! My friend got the $14 Pain Perdu (brioche French toast with vanilla bean butter and maple syrup) and she loved it. I think she would totally go back to Bouchon on her next trip.
The service was attentive and our coffees and waters were constantly refilled. I approve!
