| - My dog is so scared of this place. I open the door and he won't walk in, just starts trembling. True he gets a little skeptical of any vet clinic but he never turns down treats and hes not ever as scared of anything or anywhere then of this place. There was no line when I walked in. However everyone was in the middle of something. The older lady whose been there a long time sitting closest towards the door and towards me was on a call but didn't even look up to acknowledge that I was there. A normal practice of basic customer service. So I stood away from the counter a few feet to give privacy to her call and waited to get acknowledged by her or someone. Eventually another person came to the front and saw me standing and asked if I had been helped. She checked us in and then said "let's weigh your pet". Then while in the middle of conversation with other coworkers and completely checked out she trying to locate a clean room. Once inside, we waited for another several minutes before greeted by the vet tech. She asked a couple questions and left again. Then the doctor comes in.... Let's just say the fees are astronomical. I paid $48 for less then 10 minutes of the vets time, probably closer to 7 minutes total. $290 an hour seems slightly steep. Human doctors don't even charge that much!!!!! After my short time with the vet she left a few minutes later the vet tech came back in and took over. She presented a breakdown of additional services they wanted to do that day. I immediately turned down the extra $320 worth of extra tests and treatments. Which included a $25 tube of cortisone cream, $25 nail clipping? Seriously!!!! Plus a $190 blood panel, a wet smear of a couple growths but an additional $25 because there a few extras. And when I asked the vet tech how many would be tested, she responded with "a lot". Seriously? You want $75 for an unknown amount of samples? How unprofessional. Even when I go to the dentist for a filling they break down a little tiny tooth for the costs of each side involved. I paid $48 for the reg exam for less the 10minutes of the vets time after that the vet tech did all the communicating and she kept excusing herself to go ask questions. I spent more time in the room alone with my dog then with one of them. Here's the weird part. The night prior to the appointment I groomed my dog with clippers and a number 2 guard, That's pretty short, his under carriage I used trimmers ( I'm a licensed hair stylist and have been grooming him myself for 11years so I'm thorough) then he had a good bath. But tell me why when we left there I found a tick on his stomach. He only went outside 3 times after his grooming the night before, once as we walked to get into the car and go to the appt then 2 more times, going into the vet and then exiting. The last time he was there I found a tick on his chest a day after leaving there. Now I can't be certain it came from there, but in the 6 years I've lived here I've only seen a tick on him two times and those two times are the only times I ever seen a tick on him in his existence. And both times after leaving there....? And I have 2 other dogs and I never seen ticks on them but they've never been to that vet. Just seems too coincidental.
There was a lack of customer service and compassion from the moment we walked in. Guess my dogs intuition kicked in before mine. Honestly this place seems to be about the money, justifying and explaining to worried parents why they need to drop hundreds of dollars. Maybe it's not the fault of the vet or even the tech but someone there is padding their wallet. I'll go elsewhere.
