  • Yesterday we had My daughter's Birthday Party at Luciano's. What a wonderful afternoon it was. I had not been there before and being a Foodie and Italian I was anxious to try it! What a great surprise ! Everything was fantastic --from the beautiful decor to the scrumptious and authentic food! We had a waiter...If you go you must ask for him --Mauro! He was from New York and an experienced waiter is what every one wants but you don't always get...He took all of our orders...16 people ( big group in a side private room --perfect ) with out writing anything down..He remembered everything..he was spot on...he suggested things for the big party..how many apps to get and what was fantastic and what was on the menu for Restaurant week. We had about 5 or 6 people get the Queens Feast menu...and the rest of us ordered off the regular menu. Their cocktail list is fresh and inviting..Mixology at its finest with fresh herbs and fruit. One of the cocktails was a Blueberry Sage infused Martini! Delicious.. another was a Strawberry Basil mash that was so fresh and light! Now on to the food....We started out with light an crispy Calamari: Hand-battered and fried with sautéed bell peppers, aioli and pomodoro sauce. Then My personal favorite: CARPACCIO: Black Angus beef tenderloin, shaved authentic Parmigiano, baby arugula, crispy capers, truffle oil, and aioli--if you have never had a Fried Caper..you have missed out!! Huge platters - Mauro knew exactly how many for us to get for the crowd we had. I could not get past the fantastic appetizers, so that is what I had for my dinner..I had the BURRATA: Fresh mozzarella with a creamy curd center, heirloom cherry tomatoes, balsamic reduction, and grilled country bread. That was my first course. my second and entree was the BONE MARROW AL FORNO : Served with grilled Ciabatta, roasted garlic and sea salt. Outstanding..three large bones and a great side of the roasted garlic. Some of the other entrees, that my family tried were the PUMPKIN GNOCCHI: Duck, mushroom ragu, outstanding, the Chicken under a Brick with Kale and roasted fingerling potatoes. They had an incredible tableside Dover Sole MEUNIERE, the Manager deboned it! The Steak was also wonderful which is different for an Italian place but so tender and succulent. All of the pasta's were wonderful too. Great wine list to go with the Cocktail and the desserts...well let me just say to any good Italian..."ZEPPOLES" :Ricotta Cheese Filled Italian Doughnuts with Nutella ..enough said.. Heaven on a plate...I would highly recommend this place...Ask for Mauro....Ciao!
