  • This was a terrible experience overall, and I do not expect to return. We decided to come here after trying to go to Cafe 33 Bistro and finding a line almost out the door (we had called when they opened at 11, hoping to get a table for 7pm, but were told that they only reserve tables for parties of 5 or more but that it should be easy to get a table. Ha). So, we called Curry on Murray and were told we could easily get a table. We hurried on down to find a half-empty but comfortable dining room. We were promptly seated and ordered hot tea while we waited for our friend to arrive, hoping to ward off the cold (which was unsuccessful since the continually opening door caused a strong blast to cool the dining room repeatedly). When our friend arrived we ordered the fresh spring rolls as an appetizer. While we waited for these, a longer time then normal, we ordered our main courses. Finally the spring rolls appeared and were fine but underwhelming and small when compared to those at other Pittsburgh-area Thai establishments. And, before we could eat them, we had to go up to the waitress stand and ask for plates and silverware. When we were done with the appetizer, our waitress returned and let my husband know that they were out of a sauce needed for his dish and he was forced to order another meal on the spot. Thirty minutes later we were still waiting for our meals, and I asked the waitress in passing when we could expect our meals. She looked perplexed and said that she would check on them. Fifteen minutes later we are still waiting, and I again went up to the front to ask when our meals would be ready. Finally my meal and my husband's appeared, cold of course, and without the brown rice we had ordered because they were suddenly out of it (they couldn't send someone to Giant Eagle to pick some up?!). My friend's meal didn't arrive with ours, and we had to ask, when our waitress appeared, we told her our meals were cold and asked about our friend's food. She took our meals to heat up, at our request, and came back about five minutes later with all of the meals. They were adequate but by no means as spicy as they should have been. My green curry was mediocre and still cold. My husband's meal, the Ka Prao, was small and cold as well. The coconut rice, which was a replacement for the brown rice, was probably the best part of the meal. The waitress was kind and apologetic, and did take our beverages off the bill and did not charge us the corkage fee. Probably because we had almost finished the bottle by the time our meals came. Again, we will probably never return here. The food wasn't bad. The restaurant is just VERY poorly managed and not worth the aggravation.
