I love thick steaks, big side dishes and stiff drinks. You get it all here. The star of the meal was the beef tartare appetizer. A very big serving of beautifully seasoned, chopped steak with a raw egg cracked on top was stunningly beautiful and memorable to eat. It is a dish that makes Vintage unique.
The 18 ounce rib-eye was thick, charred outside, bloody inside and heavily seasoned. A steak eater will not be disappointed.
To me the drawback is that the prices are 10% to 15% higher than other comparable, luxury steak houses in the city, so I can't give full marks even though it met all my expectations. Calgary is a very competitive, luxury steak house market.
