  • Fun! An old motel renovated into a funky-hip boutique hotel. The Clarendon has so much character. We ended up here due to a Priceline Express Deal. Parking, free drink at hotel bar ($12 value), and bike rentals all included. Room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Appreciated the little extras like a light up makeup mirror, Q-tips and cotton wipes in the bathroom, and liquid creamer for the coffee. The pump hand soap was a nice touch- I hate wasting those little bars of soap whenever I'm in a hotel. Service was extremely friendly at check-in, we were given wet citrus hand towels to cool off on the hot Phoenix summer day. We did not get to enjoy the rooftop area due to our schedule of events, but it looked really cool. We also didn't use the pool but walked around and it had great furniture, décor and also very clean. All the pool furniture was well maintained. They also had ice water available by the pool for guests. We enjoyed our free drink in the Tranquilo and even though we came in right before last call the bartender and staff were very friendly. The bar had a very fun, laid back vibe. If you want a perfectly sterile and bland hotel room- this is not the place for you. The Clarendon is unique with a few quarks, but overall a very fun place to stay. If this were to come up again for us on a Priceline Deal, I would definitely not be disappointed.
