| - I am absolutely TRAUMATIZED. Please avoid this location at any cost. Horrible, horrible service!!!! I went to this location (inside Markville mall) on Thursday, September.11th just to inquire how much a trim would be. I only needed half an inch off just to dust off the ends. Easy enough right? The receptionist whisked me in and insisted that I speak to one of the stylists directly. She scurried over towards Mike who seemed to be standing around on his phone unlike the other stylists. Next thing you know I was sitting in a chair getting my hair manhandled while the back of my head was banged against the sink repeatedly. He does his work like he's in a marathon. Extremely rushed. I was put in a chair and he whipped out a hair dryer and started feverishly drying my hair. I would feel searing pain on my scalp due to how close he was holding the blow dryer to my head. Instead of moving the blow dryer around like I've seen other stylists do, he would hold it in one spot with one hand, while he texted with the other (hence the searing pain when he would leave it in one spot for too long with the hot air blasting). I would meekly say "ouch" once in a while to indicate that I was in a lot of pain, at which he paid absolutely no attention to. He was done my cut in less than 15 minutes. FIFTEEN. I have very long hair. I was charged $70 for this and rushed out. Friends started to point out that the back of my hair was very uneven. I got a second opinion from a stylist at their sister salon Natural Solutions, during which one of the stylists immediately said that whoever cut it did a terrible job. (No, they were not saying it to get my business), as he even insisted that I go back and tell that stylist to fix it.
Now here's where the nightmare really begins. I stopped by on my way home from work with two of my coworkers. I showed the receptionist my hair and she also grabbed a strand of hair and pointed out that there were peices sticking out. I was thrown off by Mike's bad attitude the first time so I asked if I could be put with someone else. She said "of course!" and booked me in with another stylist at 10:30am the next day. I set my alarm and woke up early just to ensure that I was there on time. Right as I was about to leave my house I got a call from the manager saying that "I would have to be charged again if I was put with another stylist." Huh? Why was i told differently? She said I would have to be put with Mike again and that he wouldn't be in till 1:00pm. Mind you, this is less than 45 minutes before my original appointment. She said the receptionist was new and "didn't know what she was talking about"..Uh ok? So I moved some things around and made it there for 1:00pm. Good ol' MIKE was running late. We walked around the mall for another half an hour and finally went back. The second I sat down he said.. I kid you not, "Do you know how much training I have? I've even worked for playboy. My work is "perfect". I'm just HUMOURING you right now." I could'nt believe what I was hearing. Upon hearing that another stylist at Natural Solutions had pointed out the faults in his cut, he went on to say that "everyone that worked at Natural Solutions were b*ll washers (whatever the heck that meant) and that they were not qualified whatsoever." Isn't that their sister company?! Why are you bad mouthing them to a customer who is already visibly uncomfortable?! He then said that the receptionist that said it was visibly uneven as well "probably worked at a grocery store" before this and was an idiot for thinking his work was flawed. Oh..my..God..is he for real? Is this for real?! He is unbelievable. Upon quickly finishing yet again my friend pointed out that there was still a huge chunk that appeared longer than the rest. At this point he grabbed my shoulder, lightly shoved me towards the door and said, "YOU KNOW WHAT?! YOU GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, DO NOT EVER COME BACK HERE, EITHER OF YOU. WE REFUSE TO FIX IT FOR YOU, JUST GET OUT." and stormed to the back of the salon. We stood there with our jaws dropped to the floor. I felt like I was on some bad reality tv prank show. Just as my eyes started welling up with tears my friend grabbed my hand and dragged me out. We were not rude or unreasonable at any point. We stayed quiet and let him do his work. He is one of the most vile and unprofessional people I have ever met. Bad-mouthing everyone, even his own coworkers, and absolutely refusing to see any fault in his work. To top it all off, the manager (Heather) stood there watching! She did absolutely nothing! I was shaking. Why is someone like him allowed to work in the customer service industry?!
Please stay away from this location, MIKE (the only male at this location) and the manager who clearly has no control over her staff. Oh my goodness..still in complete shock. Avoid this location at any cost. As stated above in other reviews, the prices are unpredictable and the service is terrible
