  • The Fantasy Fair is such a neat little getaway in the city. We came by for some last minute xmas photos at the Sears portrait studio. They will be the ready in 5 days! Yah! Sears is fairly run down and pretty much like an outlet store but prices were awesome & I scored 2 dresses that were $20 each & got an official Montreal Canadians jersey for $28! It's sad to see such an institution crumbling down. There are only a few Sears stores left in the GTA. Im not sure what the property mgmt company's plans are with WCM but it would be a shame to lose this place. It's tough getting into the mall from the opposite side of the road as the medians are unnecessarily long. I'm really not sure why they did this. The mall is quite pleasant to walk around and was not packed during the Christmas season. We did see a lot of unruly kids ripping aparts toys and such as their parent left them off to wander. Santa's world especially his throne located in the middle of the mall looked amazing ! We didn't see the jolly old man as the mall was closed. Would loved to have seen him. The Fantasy Fair is just amazing! I remember this place as a child. It was wonderful to explore and feel safe running around as our folks would let us run around to all the rides with our play all day bracelets. All the lights, sounds & smells of the fair available anytime of the year! There also a Rainbow Cinema here which has affordable films. We saw one crane outside so they may be building condos close by. I just hope they do something to revitalize the WCM as I'd rather drive here than Vaughan Mills as we are a west end family (Etobicoke). Also, hope they get better quality stores, restaurants, food court, or maybe even an attached gym here. Bring all your little ones here & let them experience the joy & nostalgia of Fantasy Fair. They will have a blast !
