Gold's is no more. It was bought by EOS, a private equity group which is added some minor cosmetic touches in anticipation of quickly flipping the asset. It has gone downhill tremendously. Two months ago I would have given them 5 stars. But for the still friendly staff and great childcare, I would downgrade them to one star.
The persistent urine on the men's room floor is a hallmark to the attention to detail that corporate management ignores. Pads on machines are frequently cracked and not replaced.
The superficial renovations that management is doing are without regard to members. On a Sunday morning - the busiest day of the week - and without any notice to members, they decided to redo the entire cardio area; shoving all machines into a corner and making them unusable. They don't care about running a gym - it's all about squeezing some profit out of the place and then dumping it.
Yes, it's cheap, but even with some new paint, it's quite clear that all that glitters is no longer Gold's.
