  • First of all, I was sceptic about a "French" restaurant in Surprise of all places. But I misunderstood, it is 'French " techniques used to cook. We took our son there for his 27th birthday hoping he'd get to experience French food. The place is very small and it was warm in there, I was sweating. We ordered the French onion soup, a different presentation, phyllo dough crust covered the soup which was a nice touch. The soup was tasty but salty. The escargot was ok, too salty and a bit dry. The peach bruschetta was beautiful but too sweet. The stuffed mushroom caps had a crab meat mixture filling, very fishy taste and again salty. I had wine that tasted a bit vinegary, like it was old. The beet salad was another beautiful dish but again sweet. My husband had the roasted chicken, it wasn't anything exciting. Our son had the duck, which I didn't taste but he ate it all and said it was fine. I must admit, there were no dishes we ordered that I couldn't make, and better. The service was great, Jason did an exceptional job. A nice touch was that our son had a choice of a complimentary dessert for his birthday. Would I return?...... No.
