WOW, what a terrible experience. So much so that I made a point of contacting UPS corporate headquarters in Atlanta, GA to voice my complaint. This is a franchise store owned by John Crawford who employs a manager by the name of B. Ted Washington, Jr. It is Washington with whom I have the problem. I had a large and heavy box to return to Crutchfield electronics and struggled to get it in and to the counter. I am a senior of 80 years and was offered no assistance with my package. I was returning the item in the same box that it was shipped in. As per instructions I had used a heavy black felt pen and placed an "X" through the original shipping label as well as all other stickers visible on the box. I applied the new shipping label with clear tape. When Washington saw this he quite rudely told me I had to cover the original label completely or he wouldn't take it. Since I had no way to cover it standing at the counter I asked that he do it for me. He went ballistic saying that wasn't his job! Really? He said it would come back to me. When I asked what should I do? He continued to loudly rant and said he didn't care. Three other customers were now in the store. He then placed a sheet of white paper of the offending label, yelled "JESUS CHRIST", thrust my receipt at me and I quickly left. One of the customers that was in the store followed me out to express her outrage and said that she would call UPS to complain of the rudeness she saw and heard. Needless to say I was and still am, very much offended. This is the UPS store in the same shopping plaza as Fry's Market and gas station on Olive Avenue. I would hope that Mr. Crawford has security cameras inside his store to review this incident (18 January @ 2:36PM - according to my receipt) and see how his employee is conducting business. How many others have experienced similar treatment and have just not come back?
