| - Not really impressed with this place. I really liked my previous dentist but due to changes in my insurance I had to look for a new one. I know I will find another great one out there, but it just was not here.
My appointment was at 5:30 and I arrived at 10 after, hoping I might get in quicker, but nooo. I was not seen until about 15 minutes after six. I was about to speak up when someone in the waiting room beat me to it and yelled out "should I re-schedule? I have been here for over an hour".
Once in the back I sat in the chair and the dental assistant who was very pleasant said she was going to take 19 x-rays. I realize now how spoiled I was with my previous dentist with their high tech equipment. No high tech stuff here what so ever. In fact they had little doors that opened between the patient areas to share the x-ray machine. Thanks for the privacy huh!
I sat in the dentist chair forever and no one even stopped by to check on me or to offer to turn on their 80's looking television propped up near the sealing. It was also very cold but at least I had a view of some street lights and a green bush :/
The Dentist finally made his way over to see me and after a quick introduction he started his exam that lasted no more than 3 minutes. I love to go to the dentist and look forward to my 6 month check-ups, but sadly I will have to wait another 6 months to hopefully get my dentistry experience worth elsewhere.
I then was escorted to the hygienist who was also very nice but also seemed rushed and then before she got started said, I need to check on your insurance to see if a cleaning can be done on the same day you got x-rays...say what? minutes later, guess what, I can have my teeth cleaned yay! (tell me you sense my sarcasm). I appreciate you checking my insurance, but isn't this what you do when someone books their appointment weeks prior to their visit. I mean 2 hours at the dentist for a 6 month check-up and no dental work done is long enough and ridiculous.
On the way out I was given my next 6 month appointment which I will not be keeping for obvious reasons, but before I walked out, I asked the receptionist if tooth brush kits were provided with your cleaning? She said "oh yeah hold on" and she went to the back and came back out with a little bag and said "there you have a tooth brush, floss, and mouth wash, but we ran out of toothpaste" Okay I think I heard and had enough. I mean this is a dental office right? I love these kits because I can't carry my electric toothbrush with me so these are just convenient to carry. I know kits are inexpensive but it's the principle.
Everyone is nice here, but definitely overworked. They thanked me on the way out for my patience and complimented me for keeping a smile on the whole time ( I was really grinning )
She mentioned that Wednesdays is their busiest day of the week because everyone wants to see the dentist...um duh...so who else do they see on all other days? Not coming back to find out!
