  • Canadian Tire is one of those retailers I love despite their flaws. The staff tends to be less than helpful, but they have fantastic deals once and a while, and it's always on cool crap like pressure washers and bike computers. Flipping through their flyer, I think I get an idea what some women must feel when they shop for clothes and jewelry. This Canadian Tire is great because, despite its location, it's still huge and even has parking, a rarity anywhere near downtown. (Contrast with the Canadian Tire by the Eaton Centre, which does not.) The last time I was here, I had the usual random shopping list: I picked up a halogen bulb and a butane lighter. The former, I actually needed; the latter was a complete impulse buy, since it was a staggering 70% off! And they still give out Canadian Tire money, after all these years. Points cards be damned!
