After hearing my girlfriend rave about how amazing Elements is I made reservations for VDay dinner. It was a four course set dinner ($115 per person) and boy was the food disappointing. We started out with a bruschetta that was bland and flavorless with a what seemed to be a canned artichoke heart on the side. Then, we were served a salad that soggy. Our second course was a crab bisque that was almost inedible. There was an overpowering ginger flavor that ruined the bisque. Our third course my girlfriend got Eggplant, Squash, and Quinoa Ravioli she ate one of the 3 ravioli and it tasted as if it was just an egg noodle and sesame seeds with a bunch of squash and eggplant thrown on top. I had the Short Rib and it was fairly good but nothing great. Finally, the dessert was the only decent thing we ate all night, which was a chocolate fondue. This meal was definitely not up to the reputation to say the least. They say and pride themselves on the fact that an Iron Chef runs the Kitchen, but the truth of the matter is I don't think this four course meal would beat Bobby Flay. In the end I can only see people enjoying this meal because they were several drinks in. My girlfriend and I are not 21... so I ended up spending $300 on a meal that disappointed both of us. For those looking to go to a nice restaurant with great food in the Paradise Valley area, try El Chorro. We went there for NYE and it was phenomenal. Oh and one last thing we had basically no privacy due to the fact that we were interrupted by water woman filling our glasses after just about every sip we took. It was beyond annoying! I personally won't be going back and wouldn't recommend Elements for Valentines Day to anyone.
