| - Marrakech was a both a great and disappointing experience.
Visited her with my Morrocon friend, and opted for the 6 course prix fixe meal for $50.
The venue was great, the ambiance was nice and super authentic. We got to wash our hands, eat with our hands and try some cool dishes.
Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the ambiance itself.
The starter shrimps were okay, and my friend noted that they weren't authentic at all.
The second dish was the lentil soup, which was a mix of lentil, rice, chickpeas, and tomatoes. We enjoyed the soup.
The third dish was the Morrocon salad which came with cooked carrots, hummus, babaganous, and cucumbers. Surprisingly, the carrots were amazing, the dips were nice, and the cucumbers were... Cucumbers.
The fourth dish was the beef skewers. Their presentation was beautiful as they came skewered into a whole pineapple. I really enjoyed the skewer, made me want more!
The fifth dish was the couscous with chicken. This dish was absolutely horrendous, both me and my friend took two bites and let the entire plate go to waste. One of her favourite meals is couscous and she was really looking forward to this dish, unfortunately it was a disaster and not authentic at all.
The sixth and final dish wad the dessert with tea. The tea was fantastic but the dessert was awful. Banana completely overwhelmed my taste buds so we took two bites and let it all go to waste.
There was also a belly dancer which came out periodically. I find belly dancers really awkward, especially when I'm at dinner. However, it's Vegas, so other people seemed to really be enjoying it.
Overall this was a good one time experience, but I would never want to come back again as more than half the food sucked. I'm surprised this place is rated so high, I'm assuming it's the experience as oppose to the food that people enjoy.
