  • I wish I had checked these reviews on Yelp before purchasing this deal on Living Social. Just like everyone else, I too was taken. I didn't have the same experience with scheduling, but I certainly didn't get what I paid for. I checked their website, which looked very legit, and called ahead of time to see if I would be able to schedule service when I wanted. Luckily, I got a hold of someone on the second try. Was told they weren't booked into August yet, so I went ahead and purchased the deal. I purchased the deal specifically because it was for "deep cleaning," and the list of services covered all the things on my move-out list for the apartment I was moving out of. I was super excited to not have to clean after move out, because I didn't have time to do it myself. It took me three attempts to schedule service, but I was able to set something up for the day I wanted. The day of service, we were to meet at 8:00 a.m. so I could let them in. I waited until 8:40 a.m., but couldn't wait any longer because I had to get to work. I placed two calls to the company during that time, but got the answering machine both times. Since everything was out of the apartment, I figured no one could steal anything so I left it unlocked and asked one of the maintenance guys who was cleaning the grounds to keep an eye out. I finally got a call around 9:20 a.m. stating they were there but couldn't get in. When I called back and asked if they checked the door, because I had left it open the woman I spoke with was extremely rude and simply said "We're in now." I said I waited as long as I could for them, but that I had to get to work and she replied with a curt "There was traffic." I asked if she saw my note on the counter indicating that they should just let the leasing office know when they had finished, so that the unit could be locked back up and again received a short response: "Yeah, I saw it." Super unprofessional on both accounts, but I was just happy that they were there. The following day after work, I decided to go by the apartment to check to see how the place looked. I had a handful of friends who were asking for feedback whether the company did a good job, because they too wanted to purchase this deal. When I walked in, I could immediately tell that very little had been done because it didn't even appear the carpets had been vacuumed. In a panic, I went room by room and found that not only had they not done deep cleaning, they hadn't even done basic cleaning! They hadn't even touched most surfaces, and it didn't appear they even used any wet rags to clean anything. I ran my hand along the counters and found crumbs and dirt came off on my fingertips. Counters, windowsills, cabinets, baseboards, appliances - all things which were covered on their list of deep cleaning items - had been left untouched. The only thing it appeared they did was clean the tubs, mirrors and floors in the bathrooms. As for the rest, they maybe took a dry duster to a few things like the fan blades, but even those needed to be wiped down with a damp cloth. I called a friend of mine in extreme panic and distress, and she offered to come help me out. I had to go to my new place, change, grab cleaning supplies and turn around to go back to the old place to meet her. We spent 3 hours and were able to get most things knocked out that night. I ended up going back the next night for 3 more hours to complete the rest. This all happened Tuesday of this past week. I have called the company three times and left messages asking them to return my call, but no one has. I will certainly be pursuing a refund and passing this along to the people at Living Social.
