  • We had one water damage incident after another. Right after the first, I asked a tradesmen for someone who could work on our second one. He recommended EcoDry as his friend owns the company. Yelp reviews looked good. A nice man came to look at the damage and recommended we start by taking off the drywall damage, spray an anti-microbial, and putting in fans. One of the three people who came to do that was being trained so one man mostly just told him what to do. I stopped the process there to wait for the insurance company's recommended contractor company's estimator to look at the site and put in the claim. In the meantime, I asked EcoDry for a bill. That way I could get a feel for their costs. Their costs were, in some cases, three times what the two estimates for the first incident were if I used those line item costs. Most companies use the same software program when they generate an estimate they'll be showing insurance people. It just does not look like EcoDry used that same program (unless their's has added a built-in multiplier). They also, in my opinion and according to my measurements, padded the quantity of materials by, in one case, 10 times. If I used the costs provided by the other 2 estimates (which were nearly identical) and used my measurements (and I know how to figure square footage), they should have charged a bit less than half what they charged. That was a $1500 difference on this tiny job! I would not touch them with a 10 foot pole which they would probably be happy to sell me for $500!
