| - Our Girl Scout troop spent the afternoon here today and we had a blast. We were able today find discount coupons, so we paid for an adult and child entered free. If you can find coupons, that's the way to go, because frankly prices are a bit high. Once in, you go to a 3D movie about the Monarch Butterflies which was amazing. Lasts about 15 minutes. I thought I read on another review that the capacity for this theater is about 25, which is incorrect. The theater holds about 150 or so. Thought that would be helpful to know that if you plan on coming with a large group, like we did.
Then onto the atrium. You go to a small room beforehand where someone goes over the rules. No running, horsing around because you could accidentally kill a butterfly. You must stay on the walk path (no strollers allowed here). No touching or swatting at the butterflies, and lastly, no picking the plants or flowers.
The atrium is a bit humid and warm, but today was about 85-90 degrees out and it was fine. Butterflies are everywhere, sometimes landing on you or on the walkway so watch your step! My daughter was immediately greeted by a large butterfly on her head and me on my arm and back. they are so beautiful. we were there about an hour and a half. it was really awesome. I would definitely go again if I could find discount tickets again. The kids are on spring break, but even so, on a Friday afternoon, it wasn't overly crowded and parking wasn't an issue at all.
The gift shop and cafe are like any other at other amusement parks. Nothing super special and pricey.
Overall we all really enjoyed ourselves.
