Great 4 night stay at the hotel. I shared a 2 queen bed, very spacious room on the 12th floor of the south tower. My room was facing North - I faced the North tower, but had a decent view of the downtown skyline above said facing tower. I had no issues with noise from Yonge St. I like the bathroom set up - tub and toilet in the bathroom with the sink outside. I didn't have time to check them out, but there's a pool and gym. There's free WiFi and its great - nice fast connection.
You can't beat the location of the hotel. Its one block away from Carlton/College & Yonge where you can find the subway and streetcar. Taxis are plentiful. Maple Leaf Gardens is around the corner. College Park Shops, Eaton Center, Hudson's Bay and tons of other shopping are within minutes. Restaurants surround the hotel and there are a ridiculous amount of options, particularly for those that are on a budget. Shoppers Drug Mart (Toronto's version of Walgreens) is next door.
I will definitely stay at this hotel again.
I knocked off a star for:
(1)Our floor's ice machine was broken for 3 of the 4 nights - of course it was fixed the last night I was there
(2)The rooms are dated - could use a fresh coat of paint/new wallpaper. This is a problem with Marriott lately. The lobby and the hallways looked great, but your room is like "eh".
(3)The upholstered chair in my room was worn. It should've been replaced long ago.
(4)The cable TV kinda sucked.
