| - Shady and unethical service from the automotive department.
I came here mainly because I needed car repairs and it was the most convenient location downtown open on a Sunday. I knew things weren't quite on the level when your hear the mechanic on the phone trying to hard sell on another customer.
Mechanic: "Calling you because of that right rear tire you wanted checked, well,uh you really need to replace ALL four tires, they have, uh, um cracks, uh, from uh weather and wear really, uh, really, almost close to the tread level, uh, so we'll keep it here until you decide"
Hello? Wake up....run!. Should have just walked out the door right then. Idiot. But I was desperate and figured the work is just simple, install it and go.
First, he tries to upsell me on a more expensive part, I say its okay and I made my choice. He seemingly ignores my request, says that he'll give me a different one, which he happens to have 3 times the stock in. I again refuse and he finally relents.
So I'm happy, I stood my ground and got my choice and would come back in 2 hours to pick up the car. Here's where things just fell apart.
I show up and the guy says the work is done. I get ready to pay and he casually mentions, oh, the part didn't fit and he put in the overstock part that he originally tried to push on me. I'm floored. I ask him why he didn't give me call to let me know. He apologizes and says the work is already done.
Wow, shakedown!! Well played fella. Needless to say, after expressing my disbelief, I'm resigned to pay and keep the work that is done.
Avoid this place unless you're faced with dragging your car in neutral more than 5 km.
