  • After a pretty abysmal experience at Phoenix Skin I wrote a review here on Yelp only to get an email from them notifying me they deleted this review stating it wasn't the correct business. I have confirmation emails and receipts of this appointment and location, I assure you this is the correct office. Therefore I am copying and pasting my initial review again, so that not only is everyone aware of the subpar treatment you will receive here, specifically from Dr Mendelson, but if you write a negative review they will get yelp to delete it. I don't normally write reviews on Yelp or anywhere else for that matter, in fact I believe this may be the first review I have ever written on a website such as this. But I have never felt so insignificant or unimportant as I did during my appointment with Dr Mendelson. I had scheduled this appointment due to some lines that had appeared under my fingernail recently. I was not too concerned about these in general but due to the fact I hadn't seen a Dermatologist in upwards of 15 years I decided it would probably be a good idea to get a full check up. I found Dr Mendelson and Phoenix Skin from my Health Insurance "In Network Search" and scheduled my appointment. Upon on arrival everything was typical as far as a Dr appointment went, normal office setting normal wait period. When I was called back to the exam room everything again was normal, after maybe a 10 minute wait in the Exam room Dr Mendelson came in. She asked to see my fingernails and looked at them for no longer than 5 seconds and told me everything was fine and nothing to worry about. She then started heading back out the door. I then had to specifically ask for the full examination. Dr Mendelson, visibly irritated and annoyed, informed me I would have to schedule another appointment. Obviously in complete disregard of my time, as I had taken an afternoon off of work to make this appointment and now she was requesting that I do so again. Not to mention the inevitability of this causing me to pay another co-pay. Once I brought this to her attention she agreed to do the full exam. She pulled out a piece of paper, not a gown, from the exam table and said I could use this to cover. That never made a difference anyways as she left the room for such a short period of time I dint even have the chance to get fully unclothed. She asked me to sit on the exam table and started to do her "thorough" exam. I am not a Dr let alone a dermatologist but this exam lasted less than a minute or two, maybe this is sufficient amount of time maybe not. I would assume she saw what she needed to, during this exam it was even difficult for me to ask questions as all it seemed Dr Mendelson was concerned about was getting out of this exam room and into the next. I understand that this is not only a Physicians office but also a business and that we all need to make money. But when the Dr starts giving off the impression that she/they care more about how many patients they can see in a day and how many co-pays they can collect instead of addressing the concerns and questions of the patient sitting in front of them, we have a problem. Not once did Dr Mendelson ever ask me about family history, amount of sun exposure or even past medical conditions with skin. To this day she is unaware that I have Eczema (probably irrelevant in this instance but seems to me a Dr, especially a dermatologist, would want to know) also unaware that within the past year several of my blood relatives have had cancerous or pre-cancerous skin issues removed.  I will not return to this office nor would I ever recommend someone to visit this office
