| - Our friend recommended the ribs, and after Yelping the area near her house, we could not come up with a better idea. Parking is at the back so you stroll around they ponds to the pretty front landscaped area which faces on to N 59th Ave, where a few hostesses are happily waiting to seat you. The place filled up quickly on a Thursday night. Dining tables are wrapped around the huge bar area, and there are lots of TV screens, but hey it is a sports bar. We were dressed to attend a classical concert, but nobody stared at us, and actually most people were dressed up although the decor is more down home casual to fit the tasty ribs slathered in BBQ sauce.
Since my husband ordered said ribs, Amber our friendly server, tied a bib on him that said "I love pig butts and I can not lie". He loved it and asked for an extra to take home. The ribs were delicious but what is listed as their hottest sauce tasted mild to his CA palette. On the other hand, I asked for the hottest sauce they had for my fish tacos (what is a nice pescatarian like me doing in a place like this? See above) and they delivered not only a nice salsa but a bowl of hot sauce that delivered a punch.
I was happy with my three huge fish tacos plus a side of mashed potatoes and potato salad. You choose the sides from a list of about ten, and I like potatoes so what the heck. A Yelper recommended the potato salad, and it was very good. Fortunately Amber asked me which kind of gravy I wanted on my mashed potatoes, because I forgot that they do not mention the mashed potatoes automatically comes with gravy that I do not want, so I was able to stave off the gravy, and they remembered to exclude it on my order.
We were rushed because we had to get to the concert, and our food order was late, so Amanda brought our bill early as we requested. I would eat here again, and give myself time to sip my sauvignon blanc and my husband could guzzle more of one of their many beers on tap.
