| - My experience at Vintner Grill was truly amazing. After hearing many great reviews from friends, my fiancé and I decided to check it out for ourselves on NYE. The location is low key and secluded, once you walk in...you're almost transported to an entirely different world. The decor, the old black and white movies...you almost feel like a part of old world, glam Hollywood. The hostesses were sweet, very nice...(had to ask guests a few times "you name again?") but again...very nice.
We got a fabulous table right in the corner....the couch seating along the wall was awesome. I had a great view of the entire dining room and felt very comfortable even though the place was PACKED. The bread offering was yummy, my favorites were the pretzel bread and bacon cranberry bread. YES, I said bacon. YUM.
When we sat down, we were introduced to the special NYE menu that was being offered for the night...but we opted to order off the regular menu.
For our first course, we ordered a trio of "fromage and carne". Cheese and meat. The menu offers (and thoroughly introduces) all of their cheese offerings and different meats. We got 2 cheeses recommended by our waiter and prosciutto. The platter came with homemade blueberry jam, honey mustard, dried apricot, and the most DELICIOUS cheese crusted bread. I had a pineapple martini with this course...it was good. A nice sturdy martini with (what tasted like) real pineapple. It wasn't syrup-y or too sweet. Just right...a perfect starter for our meal.
For dinner, my fiancé had kobe steak. De-LICIOUS. and if you've never had kobe beef, may I PLEASE suggest you try it. Truly, a cut of meat above and beyond all of the other fabulous cuts of meat out there. I forget what his steak came with...but I do remember the plate being completely empty and him saying that it was "very very good". I on the other hand was intrigued and oohing over every thing on the menu. I settled for the half chicken with lobster mac and cheese with broccolini. Sounds good right? It was okay. I typically never order chicken...I wish I had ordered the scallops (which I spied on someone else's table...LOOKED YUMMY!!)...but I ordered it because I'm a sucker for mac and cheese...and LOBSTER mac and cheese? Forget it. I was sold. It was good..but again, I plan on returning to Vintner Grill to try MORE! I had a caipirinha with my dinner...it was one of the best I've had. Even our waiter, who was from Brazil, said that theirs was one of the most authentic. Sugarcane rum...can't beat it.
We finished off our meal with seriously the bet tiramisu I've had. I've been "deserting" with tiramisu since a very young age. And truly...I was and am impressed.
So, in short...we are definitely going back. There's also an amazing patio with a fire pit and twinkling lights that I want to enjoy once the weather warms. And I urge you, my fellow yelpers, to check it out.
Vintner Grill...you're pretty awesome.
