  • The Gallery on 17th Kicks out more than 60 pairs of Kicks, both male and female, it gives you an opportunity to tenderly turn every shoe 360 degrees and caress each one lovingly, wishing you had the hard cash to call it your own. Aaron Ellard is a young entrepreneur with a vision that seems to have all the right ingredients. He has brought a street life and styles community to Calgary, and even features local talent in art shows every 6 weeks at the store. Darcy Obakata, a break-dance buddy of a friend of mine who is actually hanging an art show at The Gallery right now that is almost sold out. The Gallery not only offers kick ass kicks and art work, he of course specializes in exclusive lines of clothing; from local Calgary designers as well as designers from TO and New York city. Expect unique items from Public Library, Light and Soul Apparel, UNIF, Build a Boy, and Mental Wealth just to name a few. I give 5 stars to Aaron and the Gallery simply to bring hip hop, urban wear and scene to the Calgary area that it desperately longs for. The Gallery, on 17th Avenue SW the definite fashion and cultural swagger.
