  • You need to hear this if you love your animal. This is the only time I've ever written a review about any products or services, anytime, anywhere. However, this is the time that warrants such an occasion. After years of taking (our only child, a Westie) Nicholas to a generic "cash and carry" vet (give us all your cash and carry your dog in and out quick) we decided Nic deserved not just better care, but the best care. Approaching his senior years in life, we wanted to do everything to give him the best and last qualitative years of his remaining time with us. Since we were already being assaulted in the pocketbook for minimum care, would it not be possible to also find high quality care to go along with the financial reminders of love? So, a year or so ago, my wife searched countless reviews seeking a top notch Veterinarian anywhere in Charlotte. She came to me and said hands down, based on all the positive reviews, DILWORTH ANIMAL HOSPITAL was our choice. It was there we came to meet Dr. MATTHEW. WHEELOCK, as well as his wonderful, very professional, kind and caring staff. As I pondered moments ago through the many other positive reviews, I was surprised at the couple of bad negative feedbacks, but I guess everyone's entitled to a bad day. I can tell you honestly, with the several now exams, care, and recent surgery, I feel like Dr. Wheelock is my brother caring for Nic. A very compassionate person, it shows with his extremely thorough exams and keen intuition for Nic. He is equally as compassionate with Brenda and myself as he explains in layman's terms where we are and where we need to be if needed. He is kind, and is very generous with his time as you seek out the best options for your loved one. Of all the vets I've encountered, he is more like a thorough pediatrician with my kid, rather than a dog Doc collecting lots of money in a generic, sterile, kennel smelling office. And, considering Dilworth, we felt he is reasonable and affordable financially. I never new this guy prior to coming to DAH, but I'm very thankful he's now our vet. We are thrilled for Nic, as well as ourselves to get this above and beyond help for someone we love so much. We don't have children. We only have Nic, and he's the love of our life. It's beginning to look like Dr. Wheelock is as well. Thanks for all you do DW & DAH!
