  • I love this grocery store. Before I give any praise, the main negative I have with Sprouts is the proximity to my house, but I will forgive them since they are my favorite grocery store in Vegas. This is the kind of grocery store I like to wander through just to see the variety and selection of meats (ground venison or wild boar anyone?) and produce. Their produce is easily the best in town. It is big with many different variety of each produce item. On this trip I was searching for citrus for a salad I'm making tonight. I got blood oranges, Valencia oranges, cara caras, Meyer lemon, and red grapefruit. I could have got more, but I didn't want to go too crazy. it's nice to have options and be able to experiment with new interesting foods. The quality of the produce is great as well. It's beauty makes me want to stay filling up my basket with culinary projects. The bakery has fun options too. Rather than pick your brand of white sandwich bread, they give alternative flour and grain options (think sprouted rye, spelt, etc.). Also, they have a large bulk item section with all kinds of nuts, granola, beans, dried veggies, dried fruits, and chocolate all-of-the-above. The employees are earning their pay here every day. The store is clean. Everyone is on board with customer service. Usually they will ask if you need help before you even know you need help. The lines are always managed well. No long waits and speedy but friendly service. My favorite part... The price tag. Very affordable. The neighborhood markets might have Sprouts beat by 5-10%. But what you save at the register at Smiths and Albertsons is sacrificed in quality of the food and service. And I don't bang my head against the wall looking for basil. I can get it in a jar, bulk, fresh in a clam shell, fresh in a bunch, or a potted plant. That's impressive! If you want quality without the high price of Whole Foods, this is the place!
