  • Was putting together a garden for my mom's new house and decided to try this place. The selection was good and the service and knowledge in the BACK area where the plants are was excellent. Bought about $400 worth of plants but returned half after finding similar items at Home Depot for half of the price. Loss of a star for the moody cashier and loss of a star for lack of a will call area. After the initial $400 purchase on a Saturday afternoon, I asked if my items could be set aside (including a lemon tree) for the landscaper to pick up early Monday morning and was told they have no such service. The attendant then proceeded to cram a dozen items in my car. When I asked him not to hurt the plants, I was told that their plants are very hearty and if a branch were to break in my car, I shouldn't worry since it would grow back quickly. It wasn't the answer I was looking for. It hurts to say this as I love to support local but at the same time, local needs to understand the competition and be competitive. My recommendation is to try to get as much possible at the nearby big box store and fill in with a few special items from local nurseries.
